LHC Newsflash Issue 6
30 March 2007-
It could be London - Well London bid submitted to BIG

The Well London Alliance is now complete with the appointment of Arts Council England, London leading on culture and tradition and South London and the Maudsley NHS Trust leading on the mental health themes of the programme. They recently joined our existing Alliance partners (Groundwork London, Central YMCA, London Sustainability Exchange, and University of East London) to lead and develop these key themes of the programme.

Well London's unique approach will ensure that we reach the Londoners that other health initiatives do not reach. We will be working with local communities and stakeholders to transform people’s lives and the places where they live. The programme has a rigorous framework for evaluating, learning and sharing the approach across London and beyond.

The final bid documentation was submitted to BIG on 22nd March. There will be an assessment visit before the end of April and we expect BIG to announce whether the bid is successful in early July.

Meanwhile the work continues to further develop Well London in anticipation of a positive decision. You can view the Well London stage two strategy and keep up with progress at the LHC's website - londonshealth.gov.uk/well_london.htm
