'Well
London'
London's Bid to the Big Lottery Fund Wellbeing programme
Members of the 'Well London' Alliance team yesterday visited the Big
Lottery Fund's Newcastle office for a bid assessment visit. They presented
the vision for the bid and and explained how the portfolio of local
community projects will deliver real improvements for Londoners over
the next five years.

The visit went
well and we'll find out in early December whether our bid goes through
to stage two. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to deliver
positive health and wellbeing for London's most in-need communities
in the areas of food poverty, green spaces, mental health, culture
and tradition.
'Well London'
is a partnership bid put together by the London Health Commission,
Groundwork, Central London YMCA, London Sustainability Exchange
and University of East London. You can download the bid
strategy at: http://www.londonshealth.gov.uk/wellbeing.htm
Our portfolio
will deliver:
25 community-led
projects, coordinated at the local level, which make real and sustainable
gains in the health and well-being of our most disadvantaged communities
and build their capacity to secure further gains;
robust, evidence-based models and benchmarks that will influence
policy and practice to secure real enhancements to well-being and
reductions in health inequalities across all communities in our
capital city and beyond.
Ends.
